Dear Food Manufacture or Retailer,

CR SANTEC, a department of the Public Research Centre Henri Tudor, has launched a website for the collection of food ingredient data. The purpose of this web site is to help people who suffer from food allergies [or intolerance] easily identify the ingredients of products that they purchase in stores. To date, several manufacturers have added ingredient data to our site and we would like to know if your company would be interested in doing the same.

Your product ingredient data will be protected in such a way that only you will be able to update or change the information once it is on the web site. This information will be available to the public and will be used by allergy patients and their physicians for the diagnosis of severe food allergies or food intolerances. With this letter you will find a list of items that we would like to collect for our database. The information can be given to us in writing or in an automated way. If you are interested in joining our project please respond to this letter and we will contact you to gather the relevant information.

For the CR SANTEC, the goal of this project is to help people who suffer from serious food allergies. For your company, this may be an excellent opportunity to communicate to your customers the level of quality and concern for social well being that are an integral part of the products and services that you provide. Those manufactures who contribute ingredient data to the web site will have the opportunity to associate themselves with this research initiative and to take advantage of the growing trend in online and mobile consumer product searches. We invite you to review the site (www.wikifood.eu) and to assess the project for yourself. We look forward to answering any questions that you may have and hope to include you in the growing list of companies that support our research activities.

Respectfully,

The WikiFood Team
